Seedy Cake
Preparation
Beat one pound of butter to a cream
Add one pound of sugar, and beat both together until they become white
Then add two eggs, and beat for some time, and repeat, until you have added twelve eggs
Add one and three quarters pounds of sifted flour
Mix in a half a pound of orange peel finely chopped, half a pound of blanched and chopped sweet almonds
Then mix, but stir as little as possible.
Have a hoop (cake pan) greased and papered
Pour in the cake, smooth with a knife, and scatter a few caraways on the top
Bake two hours and a half in a moderate oven

1 3/4 lbs. Sifted Flour
1/2 lb. Orange Peel
1/2 lb. Sweet Blanched Almonds
